This is Our Story

When in 2005, artist and teacher Alexandra Spadea and John McDowell, composer, welcomed their daughter Luna into the world, they also decided to start up Camp Hill Farm. Along with raising their child they became stewards of the land, and dedicated themselves to cultivating the fields, and working with the good spirits living in each plant and rock.

Luna grew up in these fields and gardens and developed a deep appreciation and knowledge of nature early on.

Over the years Alexandra began to develop body care potions for her family and friends, and the students she works with. Salves and oils infused with herbs from the land, which helped with all kinds of skin issues, aches and pains. The few organic and potent ingredients she uses, are so safe that one could literally eat them.

Gifting her large circle of friends, family and students, young and old with these salves,  they quickly became a staple in everyone’s daily skin routine.

20 years later, Luna convinced her mom that although gifting the people she loves and knows is great, but how about including many more beautiful people who would love and cherish her goods? Being an entrepreneurial spirit, Luna has become the driving force in the start-up of our business.

Maybe it is her mom’s Italian name SPADEA that all along meant to be brought into the fulfillment of its meaning:

SPA = health, beauty & wellness and DEA = Goddess.

To all the Goddesses and Gods that walk the face of the earth we send our best wishes and hope you will enjoy these salves as a nourishment, just as much as we have all these years. Thank you!
